Why vegetable tanning?
Vegetable tanning uses tannins taken from plants, bark or wood. It is an old method, slower than chrome tanning. It gives a supple leather that develops a patina over time. How do you make it last?
Keeping a bag for years is the simplest way to buy less. Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Condition the leather now and then with a suitable care product, and keep it away from heat.
