Suede or nubuck?
Suede is leather sanded on its inner side: its nap is longer and softer. Nubuck is sanded on its outer side: its nap is shorter and a little firmer. Both stay matte. To compare, see our suede and nubuck bags or read our article on smooth, pebbled, nubuck and brushed leathers.
How to care for a suede bag?
Suede does not like water. Apply a suitable waterproofing spray before the first wear, then from time to time. For dust, a soft, dry brush is enough. Avoid damp cloths and greasy creams: they flatten the nap. Chocolate brown, camel and black show marks less than cream beige. You will find more tips in our handbag care guide.
